Actors from the London Stage

Professional actors from England will be on campus at Saint Joseph’s College in February. The Actors from the London Stage are professional actors from England who have worked with such companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Globe Theatre, etc. They will be in residence at the College from February 10-16 visiting classes and giving workshops.
On Friday Feb. 14 and Sat. Feb 15th they will be presenting the Play “As You Like It” in the SJC Theatre in the Evans Arts and Science Building. Curtain time is 7:30 and the admission is $10.00. Tickets can be purchased on line through the SJC webpage…..when the site is set up. You can find out more about the Actors by googling actors from the London stage.

Also, on Jan 30,31, and February 1 the Columbian Players will present An Evening Of One Acts in the SJC Theatre. Curtain time is at 7:30 and admission is $5.00. The evening features two plays by contemporary playwright David Ives, two classic one acts by Anton Chekov, and an original one act by John Rahe (me).

Trivia by Carnegie

Once again, its TRIVIA BY CARNEGIE! our annual trivia night event!  This year it is on March 1st, 2014 6:30 p.m at theFirst Presbyterian Church, 220 N. Cullen St., Rensselaer.
Proceeds go to The Garrity-Laird Scholarship Fund. $5.00 per person, maximum of 8 people per table. Sharpen your trivia skills and come away with the prize! Challenge one business to another; challenge one family to another!
Clubs and civic groups may challenge each other also!
B.Y.O.S. (Bring Your Own Snacks) Coffee, Iced Tea, soft drinks available for purchase.

Annual Meeting

The Carnegie Players  2013 Annual Meeting will be on January 19, 2014,  5:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall; 107 E. Angelica St., Rensselaer.   All members and interested patrons are welcome to attend.  Carnegie will provide broasted chicken, table service, coffee and iced tea.  Please bring a side dish, dessert or casserole to share.  We will have highlights of the past year, committee reports and the election of Board Members.
