The excitement is beginning to build.  Who will be cast as Joseph next week at The Carnegie Players auditions for JOSEPH and THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT?  Or, who will be the Narrator, Jacob and his other eleven sons?  Who will be Jacob’s wives?  Will your son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter be in the Children’s Chorus?

The  Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors will come to life on stage this summer in Rensselaer by The Carnegie Players.  JOSEPH and THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT will be produced on July 28, August 3, 4 and 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm each night in the RCHS Auditorium.

The production is based on the biblical story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis, and because this show is sung through with little dialogue, strong singers are preferred.  Cast requirements are: Narrator, Joseph, Jacob, Eleven Brothers, Potiphar, Mrs. Potiphar, The Baker, The Butler, Pharaoh, Wives, 2 Ishmaelite’s, Male Ensemble, Female Ensemble and a large children’s chorus.  All ages over 5 are invited to audition for JOSEPH.

Auditions will be held on Monday, May and Tuesday, May 2 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the RCHS Auditorium.  Callbacks if necessary, will be held on Thursday, May 4 if needed.  Please enter RCHS via the north entrance door #8.  Come prepared to sing a song that showcases your vocal range.  Piano accompaniment will be available.  There will not be a traditional reading from the script as part of the audition process for JOSEPH.  You may download in advance three forms at:    www.thecarnegieplayers.org   or Facebook at: The Carnegie Players of Rensselaer.  The Audition Form, Media Release Form and Code of Conduct should all be filled out and turned in at auditions.
